I support the Employee Free Choice Act and the middle class.
Adding my name says that I support better wages and stronger rural economies – a critical piece of our nation’s economic recovery. It’s time Congress heard from the farmers and ranchers they represent.

A homesteader who supplements wages with farm income. I remember the '70's when America showed us promise. WE MUST return to that level field.

We all need the opportunity of receiving a fair wage for days work, and for that to happen we must have collective bargaining for all employment.

I was raised to understand work as a trade between employer and employee. Workers trade their time and expertise for money. I live in a state where employers can offer experienced librarians, for example, less than the national recommended starting salary. Less educated workers are offered far less. We take what we can get; we get NO protection or security ("right to work"), and we have no recourse. This is no trade; it's blatant exploitation. EFTA will give workers a voice and help bring work back into balance.

I have been in the work force since 1964, and the deal between Labor and Management has always been "a fair days' pay for a fair days' work". That is until the union-busting tactics of the Reagan administration, beginning with the breaking of the Air Traffic Controllers Union in the early 1980's. Everything seemed to go south after that, including the integrity of a persons word through a simple handshake. We should always keep in mind that if all corporations and businesses treated their workers fairly, there would be no need for unions. Instead, corporate America would rather spend tens of millions of dollars a year trying to rob you of any workplace rights! John F. Kennedy would often remind us that unions do nothing more than fight for justice and fairness; something we all should aspire to, simply by being members of the human race.
